Two charged in carjacking
Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis said two men suspected of carjacking a Lynchburg man on Thursday were arrested Saturday and are facing several charges.
Andrew A. Butler, 19, of 570 One Mile Road, Gable; and William M. Mustafa, 22, of 8060 Fullard Street, Lynchburg, were both charged with carjacking, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and trafficking cocaine, Dennis said, after the men were brought into custody following a traffic stop early Saturday evening on S.C. 527 near One Mile Road.
Sixteen grams of cocaine with a street value of $1,600 and three ounces of marijuana with a street value of $1,500 were confiscated, along with Butler’s 1991 Honda, in which the two men were riding. A report said a 38-year-old Sumter man told deputies the two men held him at gunpoint about 1:45 p.m. Thursday on Fullard Street in Lynchburg, and took his 1995 Chevy Tahoe, valued at $6,500. Dennis said the Tahoe was recovered and the two men’s bond hearings had yet to be scheduled.
