Three masked robbers leave Pinewood home empty-handed
PINEWOOD — A 30-year-old Pinewood woman told deputies three masked men barged into her home Thursday morning and demanded money, and after using her phone to call her husband, they left empty-handed.
A report said about 9:20 a.m. Thursday, three black men wearing black masks and gloves forced open the front door of a home in the 200 block of West Fifth Street in Pinewood and told the woman to give them "the money." The men went through her home and kept asking where the money was, and she told them she didn't have it. One of the men then used the woman's phone to call her husband and threatened to kill the woman if he didn't give them the location of the money they sought. When the man got off the phone, he hit the woman on the left side of her head with his fist.
One of the men reportedly said, "Come on, Jamal, let's go back to Wedgefield," the report said, adding that the men left in a blue Chevy Impala.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
