NORTH AUGUSTA — Anna Forrest McKie and Mark Robert Flumerfelt were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Grace United Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Thomas McKie of North Augusta, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Beaty Eldridge Reynolds of Sumter, and George Oren McKie and the late Rachel Moore McKie of North Augusta. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor of science in exercise science and from the Medical University of South Carolina with a master's degree in physician assistant studies. She is employed as a physician assistant by Dermatology Associates of the Low Country, Hilton Head.
The bridegroom is the son of Robert Flumerfelt of Port Orange, Fla., and Maureen Quigley Flumerfelt of Manasquan, N.J., and the grandson of Leo Martin Quigley and the late Mrs. Catherine O'Brien Quigley of Bradley Beach, N.J., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Stevenson Flumerfelt of South Brunswick, N.J. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor of science degree in sociology. He is employed by State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster.
The Rev. Dr. James C. Adams and the Rev. Dr. John M. Younginer Jr. officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Dr. Wayne Lord, organist; Dr. Laura Ballard, soprano; and Marvin Kendrick Ballard III, baritone.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Rachel McKie Covar, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Elizabeth Courtney, Jennifer Marie Fernandez, Donna Michelle Flumerfelt, Suzanna Heath Hall, Nancy Katharine Pendley, Dorn Elizabeth Smith and Jennifer Renee Tharp. Isabella Alston Waters served as flower girl.
The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Marcus Paul Covar, brother-in-law of the bride, Bryan Joseph Condon, Christopher John Condon, Jeffrey Kendall Davis, Andrew MacDonald Evans, Brian Michael Quigley and Christopher Leo Quigley. Ellis Haynes Waters served as ring bearer.
Also participating were Andrew Byron Kinney, John Stewart Ballard and Marvin Kendrick Ballard IV.
The reception was held at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, Augusta, Ga.
The rehearsal party was given by the bridegroom's parents at The River Club, North Augusta.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Bluffton.
