Home fire resulting in total loss under investigation

A $200,000 home off Pinewood Road was deemed a total loss after a Tuesday night fire, a report said, but no one was injured.

Eleven firefighters from the Sumter Fire Department responded to 4035 Livingwood Lane at 10:17 p.m. and had the blaze under control at 11:01 p.m. The conflagration started in the carport area of the 3,000-square-foot single-family home, but the cause is unknown and remains under investigation.

The loss of the homeowner's contents was estimated to be $50,000.
