Sumter 13s win Series opener

ENTERPRISE, Ala. -- William Kinney struck out 11 batters in 6 1/3 innings and Jacob Watcher recorded the final two outs for the save in the Sumter 13-year-old all-star baseball team's 1-0 victory over West Volusia, Fla., in the Junior Dixie Boys World Series on Saturday.
Sumter scored its only run in the sixth inning. Phillip Watcher and Charlie Barnes drew walks and Phillip Watcher scored when Jacob Watcher's infield blooper was dropped by the West Volusia second baseman.
Sumter was scheduled to play Texarkana, Texas, on Sunday.
