Sheriff's office seeks help in case

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in the December 2008 shooting death of a Horatio man.

Joseph Letrez Brooks, of 7675-A Richbow Road, was found dead in his home on Dec. 4, and investigators think the person or people responsible entered his home between 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 1:44 a.m. Dec. 4.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff's Office at (803) 436-2051 or Crime Stoppers at (803) 436-2718. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
