Lee County man dies in wreck

A 32-year-old Lee County man died Saturday at 4 p.m. after his motorcycle hit a logging truck that was parked alongside Egypt Road in Lee County.

Danny Lee Burris, of 5117 Red Hill Road in Rembert, died at the scene of the crash from a massive head injury, according to Lee County Coroner Alford Elmore.

Burris was reportedly driving a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle that ran off the right-hand side of the road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The wreck is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol, but authorities think that the speed of the vehicle was a contributing factor in the wreck. Burris was reportedly not wearing a helmet.
