A suspect in connection with a Lee County shooting on Saturday morning has been arrested and taken to jail.
Jonathan N. Rivers, 19, of 801 St. Anderson Road in Rembert, was arrested without incident at his home on Saturday at about 4:30 p.m. for the shooting of Rickie Lee Green, of Pisgah, at a club in Bishopville early Saturday morning.
Green was transported by a vehicle from the Barn club, 345 Shearer Road, to S.C. 34 in Camden, where he was met by Kershaw County EMS before being taken to Kershaw Health Medical Center for a single gunshot wound in his back.
He was later airlifted to Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia and was in the intensive care unit on Saturday, according to J.D. Dellinger, a captain of investigations with the Lee County Sheriff Department.
"The victim's injuries were serious enough to where he couldn't communicate with us," he said.
Sheriff's deputies met with two witnesses who said they transported Greene to S.C. 34 and met with Kershaw County's EMS. Witnesses were also able to provide information to help identify the suspect.
Rivers is awaiting a bond hearing at Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center in Sumter.
