Man wanted in connection with armed robbery
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office has added a suspect to its Most Wanted list.
O'Brian A. Spann, 23, whose last known address was 6105 Waco Court in Wedgefield, is wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a man at 11:40 p.m. July 14. Spann is also wanted on a charge of assault with intent to kill in the same case.
Authorities said Spann was one of the men in the robbery that took place at a home in first block of Roosevelt Circle. A 28-year-old man was robbed of his silver 2000 Volvo by two men who jumped out of the bushes and put a shotgun to his head.
The men then took the vehicle, fired three rounds from several firearms and were last seen driving toward U.S. 15 south of Sumter.
Spann is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous, according to authorities.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (803) 436-2700 or Crime Stoppers at (803) 436-2718. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
