Sheriff's office seeks 2 men in Dalzell shooting

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men in connection with an Oct. 4 shooting in Dalzell.

Sheriff Anthony Dennis said Wednesday the shooting was drug-related and two men have already been brought into custody.

Tyrell Oneal Kershaw, 24, whose last known address was 5356 Mayrant Road, Rembert, is wanted on charges of assault and battery with intent to kill and armed robbery, the sheriff's office said. He is 5 feet 11 and 230 pounds.

Albert Ezekiel "Zek" Dennis, 22, whose last known address was 4915 Dais Road, Rembert, is also wanted on charges of assault and battery with intent to kill and armed robbery. He is 5 feet 7 inches and 142 pounds. Both Dennis and Kershaw should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities said Corey Simmons, 34, of Charleston, was shot on a secondary road across from Mayrant Road in Rembert on Oct. 4. Law enforcement responded to Dalzell Grocery and found Simmons in a car and covered in blood with gunshot wounds to his right arm and right side. Sumter County Emergency Medical Services took him to Tuomey Regional Medical Center. He was then taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston with injuries to his right arm and lung.

Richard Joseph "Joey" Piucci Jr., 27, whose last known address was 5155 Benenhaley Road, Dalzell, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill two days after the shooting. An arrest warrant alleges that Piucci failed to render aid or notify law enforcement of the shooting, and left the scene with the other men believed to be involved.

Robert Deante Osborne, 23, of 5665 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell, was arrested Oct. 8 and charged with armed robbery after authorities said he took $5,500 from Simmons while armed with a handgun.
