BISHOPVILLE – Lee County Council discussed extensive facility improvements needed at the various county-owned buildings at a workshop held Tuesday morning at the Lee County Courthouse.
County Administrator Bobby Boland and Maintenance Director Brian Bradt presented council with specific problems and repairs needed at the facilities, including the courthouse, the Voter Registration Building, Clemson Extension Service Building, Emergency Operations Center, fire stations, the Department of Social Services Building, Lee County Health Department, Lee County Mental Health Center, Lee County Emergency Services Centers in Bishopville and Lynchburg, the Public Works facility, Lee County Law Enforcement Center and the Lee County Economic Alliance Office.
Boland said many of the facilities have major problems with the roofs and heating and air-conditioning units.
"You (County Council) have a lot of needs when it comes to facilities and equipment," Boland said. "We need to set priorities."
For more on the meeting, including a recommendation on the first improvement project, see Wednesday's edition of The Item.
