Four people were injured in a drive-by shooting Sunday morning outside the Blue Mist nightclub, 330 Rast St.
Several shots were fired from a white, late-model pickup truck as it drove past the nightclub at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, leaving four people with superficial wounds, police said.
All four were transported to Tuomey Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released by emergency room personnel.
Marcus Robinson, 23, of Wedgefield, was shot in the back of his right, upper thigh. A security guard for the club, 24-year-old Jayrosky Jones of West Columbia, was shot in his left shoulder. Kierra I. Coakley, 18, of Sumter, was hit in her right shoulder, and 19-year-old Tawanna Shaw of Sumter was hit in her right leg, according to the report.
The shots were reportedly shot randomly into the parking lot, and the four individuals who were hit had exited the nightclub.
Eight vehicles also sustained a total of $18,500 in damage from the gunfire, police said.
The incident remains under investigation by the Sumter Police Department, with no other facts or details available Monday.
