Man wanted for child support payments arrested

A 29-year-old man wanted for owing almost $17,000 in child support payments was arrested Friday evening, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office announced Monday morning.

Jason A. Lynch, whose last known address was 4540 Frisco Branch Road, was captured after a brief search on that road by sheriff's deputies, Maj. Gary Metts said.

Lynch was wanted for failure to pay child support over $16,993.20, the sheriff's office said, and had been placed on Sumter County's Most Wanted list Thursday.
