Red Cross fundraiser kicks off today
A Wild West show, coming today to Sumter and continuing through Sunday, will serve as a benefit fundraiser for the American Red Cross in the tri-county area.
The Great American Frontier Show, sponsored by Wachovia, will have performances at 6 p.m. today, four shows on Saturday (11. a.m., 1, 5 and 7 p.m.) and 2 and 5 p.m. shows on Sunday.
All shows will take place in an open field on the corner of Broad and Mason streets, said Nancy Cataldo, service center operations director for the Central South Carolina Red Cross. Plenty of parking will be available.
Tickets cost $3 for children 11 years of age and younger and $5 for adults.
Tickets will be available at the door. Tickets can also be bought at any Sumter branch of Wachovia and at the Sumter Red Cross center on 1155 N. Guignard Drive.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward emergency relief in Sumter, Clarendon and Lee counties.
