Abe Feldsott, age 95, beloved husband of 66 years to Florence Pearlstone Feldsott, died on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Abe was born on Feb. 10, 1923, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was a son of the late Harry and Anna Gordon Feldsott. He was a very hard worker all his life. He served in the Army Corp of Engineers on Tinian Island during World War II. He ran a bottling company, Ma's Old Fashion Root Beer, for many years. He met his wife, Florence, in 1951 and married soon after. They were blessed with three children, Howard, Alan and Susan, who are all here today. He brought his family to Sumter, where he opened Fields Home Fashions, which was in business for almost 50 years. Abe was known for his dry sense of humor, which was loved by all, and it never left him. He had a zest for life and never complained.

In addition to his wife, Florence, surviving are his three children, Howard Feldsott and his wife, Halina, of New York, New York, Alan Feldsott and his wife, Masami, of Irmo and Susan Feldsott of Columbia; three grandchildren, Se-Won, Young-MI and Se-Gil; one great-grandchild, Rumi; and his beloved dog, Lady.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted sister, Eve Rose; and brother, Lou Feldsott.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Temple Sinai Cemetery with Rabbi Leah Doberne-Schor officiating.
