ALVIN R. PACK SR.

Alvin R. Pack Sr., 72, husband of Virginia Dale Avins Pack, died on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on Aug. 22, 1946, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Joseph M. Pack Sr. and Ellie Hudson Pack. Mr. Pack was a member of Sumter First Church of the Nazarene. He worked with Sumter Sheet Metal Works, SIFCO Mechanical and later as a residential contractor.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years; two sons, Al Pack and Eddie Pack, both of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Devin and Brandon; three brothers, Joseph Pack Jr. of Florence, Bennie Pack of Sumter and Billy Pack of Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hazel Pack.

Services will be private.
