As I watched the run up to Christmas, I was not surprised when I checked news programs on the tube Friday morning and turned to MSNBC and caught some of the "Morning Joe" show featuring Joe Scarborough and his girlfriend "EEKA" ... something or other ... railing about President Trump.
Was I surprised? Hardly. It was like watching a bad episode of "The Gong Show," even though I liked the Unknown Comic.
EEKA! and Joe were, as usual, viewing with alarm the state of the nation under the horrors of the Trump presidency and how the rich were getting richer in America and the poor and the middle class were starving in the streets. With deadly seriousness, these two self-absorbed blowhards were lecturing captive viewers about how imperiled our nation has become under the cursed Trump regime.
I guess I missed that. I keep reading in reliable publications such as The Wall Street Journal that the unemployment rolls are going down, jobs are opening up, the economy is beginning to boom and Americans are increasingly optimistic about the state of the Union.
No wonder the so-called mainstream media in this country has become like a faulty sewerage plant, discharging its poisonous waste and pungent vapors upon hapless Americans as it practices the fine art of distorted or fake news delivered by pretend journalists and agenda columnists bent on promoting a narrative that would take the nation back to the bad old days of Obama the almighty and his do-nothing presidency.
With Christmas over, it's back to the serious business of making America great again. We fully expect "the Resistance," led by Chucky Schumer and "Bride of Frankenstein" Nancy Pelosi, to pick up where they left off in trying to derail the Trump presidency. Good luck with that.
Happy New Year.
