Auditions open for SLT's holiday classic show

Sumter Little Theatre is holding auditions for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the theater classroom.

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" is a holiday tradition in Sumter. The play follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdsman siblings - "the worst kids in the history of the world" - as they show up at church for the free snacks and end up taking over the annual Christmas pageant. They have never heard the story of Joseph, Mary and Jesus before, and they put their own rough and rowdy spin on it. Through the magic of the season, they ultimately capture the true meaning of Christmas.

Male and female actors ages 25 and up are needed. Stage experience is preferred but not required. This play is directed by Heather Turner.

Those interested in auditioning are asked to enter through the door at 14 Mood Ave.

For more information, email Turner at turnerh32@gmail.com. Performance dates are Nov. 29-Dec. 9.
