BEATRICE B. FLETCHER

Beatrice Charlotte Brown Fletcher, age 89, beloved wife of the late James Felix Fletcher, died on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at the Gardens of Sumter.

Born in Bradford, New Hampshire, she was a daughter of the late George Edward Brown Sr. and Beatrice May Rodenhizer Stevens Brown. She served for three years in the Women in the Air Force. She worked in several positions over the years, to include banking, the Internal Revenue Service and Civil Service at Shaw Air Force Base. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of Shaw Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, James E. Fletcher and his wife, Susan, of Merritt, North Carolina; three daughters, Hallie F. Gainey and husband, Larry, of Dalzell, Denise A. Fletcher of Fairdale, Kentucky, and Eileen F. Byrd and husband, Jack, of Granbury, Kentucky; two brothers, Robert E. Brown and his wife, Hazel, of Newport, New Hampshire, and Wallace R. Brown of Bradford, New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Ashley A. Fletcher, Kelsey Cunningham and Erin Cunningham; and one great-grandchild, Cora Fletcher.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Shaw Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert White officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
