CHARLESTON - Hazel Elizabeth "Beth" Parker Dickerson, 66, widow of David E. Dickerson, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at her home.

Born Dec. 28, 1951, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late William Hazel Parker and Ruth Anderson Blake. Mrs. Dickerson was a charter member of Faith Outreach Assembly in Sumter, where she served as secretary/treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was instrumental, along with Stephen and Rhonda Barrineau, in organizing the Billy Jordan Life Center. She spent most of her employed years in the secretarial and bookkeeping field. After her mother passed away in 2013, she moved to North Charleston to be near her sister. There she made many friends she became very fond of.

Survivors include: her daughter, Melanie Sizemore (David), of Sumter; two grandchildren, John Jordan and Jennifer Hill, both of Eastover; four stepchildren, David Paul Dickerson (Christy) of Sumter, Russell Dickerson of Paxville, Michelle Creed (Steve) of Pinewood and Gina DuBose (Dwayne) of Paxville; several step-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Welch (Reggie) of North Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Jordan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Outreach Assembly with the Rev. Betty Gainey officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Faith Outreach Assembly.
