She had been lovingly caring for her husband with Alzheimer's disease at home. She said he took a small-town girl from Sumter to places she never dreamed of going during his Air Force career.
Bettie is survived by her husband, Paul; sister, Sharon Baxter; daughter, Renee Morrison and husband, David; son Anthony "Tony" Duplessis; and grandchildren, Michelle Morrison and Bryan Morrison, and Jenny Rodriguez; grandson-in-law, Jesus; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21370 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, Virginia, 20147.
Interment will be held privately at a later date.
