Board to hold special called meeting about Sumter superintendent search

Executive session to also include legal advice on adversarial claims

Sumter School District’s Board of Trustees will have a special called meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at the district office, 1345 Wilson Hall Road.

A district spokeswoman distributed an agenda late Monday afternoon.

After initial open session remarks tonight, the board will immediately enter into executive session behind closed doors.

The agenda states that while in executive session the board will receive legal advice from counsel relating to potential adversarial claims and discussion of negotiations incident to proposed contractual arrangements. Also, there will be discussion among the trustees of personnel matters regarding the district’s upcoming superintendent search.

Interim Superintendent Debbie Hamm is serving her second and final year as the district’s interim head.

Like all board-related meetings, the meeting is open to the public.
