Born in Lee County, he was the son of the late Sidney Caples Sr. and Blanche Allbright Caples. Bobby worked for many years with the highway department in South Carolina.
He is survived by two brothers, Sidney Caples and Billy Caples and his wife Kitty, all of Sumter; one son, Christian Anderson Caples of Thomasville, North Carolina; and a longtime companion, Cindy Anderson of Thomasville, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Louis Caples and J.D. Caples; and three sisters, Carlene Strickland, Mae Turner and Myrtle Brown.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, 354 Old Camden Road, Bishopville, SC 29010.
