A homegoing service for Brenda L."Brent" Williams will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Congruity Presbyterian Church (USA), 3750 Congruity Road, Gable, with the Rev. Alonzo Washington, supply pastor, and the Rev. Emanuel Davis, eulogist, officiating.
The public may view from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Palmer Memorial Chapel, 304 S. Main St., Sumter.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 5 p.m. until the hour of service and at other times, 285 Reames Ave., Sumter, SC 29153.
Ms. Williams transitioned on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at McLeod Health Clarendon in Manning.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Sammie and Eliza James Anderson. Brenda was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School Class of 1972. She was employed by Sumter School District 17 Transportation Department as a bus driver for more than 10 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, George and James Anderson; and three sisters, Malvenia Tomlin, Hannah McDowell and Mary Smith.
Survivors include her life partner, Garry Nelson of Sumter; two daughters, Kimberly Williams Bizzell and Nathalie Brown of North Chesterfield, Virginia; four grandchildren; five sisters, Carrie Anderson, Julia (Elvis) Nelson and Deloris (Lawrence) China, all of Sumter, Eliza Benton of Columbia and Geneva White of Owings, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
