Keion Brown threw a pair of touchdown passes and also rushed for another as the Bates Middle School football team defeated Chestnut Oaks 36-8 on Tuesday at the COMS field.

K'Shawn Boyd and Zyeir Gamble each caught at TD pass from Brown. Boyd also scored a rushing touchdown along with Chris Ramirez.

Jamal Taylor added a pair of 2-point conversions and also had three tackles and an interception for the Bantams. Jerome Vance finished with four tackles and a fumble recovery.

COLUMBIA - Thomas Sumter Academy kept its perfect record intact thanks to a grueling 3-2 win over Ben Lippen on Tuesday at the BL gym.

The Lady Generals won by scores of 25-14, 24-26, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-10.

Anita Cookey-Gam led TSA with 25 kills. Taja Hunley added 21 and Karleigh Young had 10. Sydney Daniel set 26 assists while Josie Reed added 21. Diamond Gibson had 28 digs to help the Lady Generals, who will travel to Laurence Manning Academy today.

Socastee 3

Sumter 2

Sumter dropped a 3-2 match to Socastee on Tuesday at the SHS gymnasium.

The Lady Gamecocks took the first two games 25-19 and 26-24 before the Lady Braves rattled off three straight wins - 25-15, 25-21 and 15-11.

SHS falls to 7-7 overall and 1-5 in the region and will travel to Carolina Forest today.

Hartsville 3

Lakewood 0

HARTSVILLE - Lakewood fell 3-0 to region rival Hartsville on Tuesday at the HHS gym by scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-22.

Ariana Jackson had three aces, five kills and four blocks for the Lady Gators. Emily McDonald had an ace, five digs and an assist while Amiyah Pinckney had an ace, two kills and two blocks.

Taylor McPhail finished with four kills and one block; Ariana Rideaux and five blocks and Rahteshia Burgess had three digs.

LHS returns to action today when it hosts Crestwood.

Dorchester Academy 1

ST. GEORGE - Clarendon Hall picked up a 3-1 region victory over Dorchester Academy on Tuesday at the DA gym by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-20.

The Lady Saints were led by Ava English with 20 service points and four aces. Mallory McIntosh added 18 points and five aces and Sara James ended with 17 points.

CH, who is now 5-5 on the season, will travel to Andrew Jackson today.

COLUMBIA - Thomas Sumter Academy fell 2-0 to Ben Lippen on Tuesday at the BL gym by scores of 25-22 and 27-25.

Logan Scruggs had eight assists for the Lady Generals while Mercedes Byrd added eight kills. Lindsay Daniel finished with six kills and Libby Gore added three. Lizzie Silvester served three aces.

TSA travels to Laurence Manning Academy today.

Clarendon Hall 2

Dorchester Academy 0

ST. GEORGE - Clarendon Hall swept Dorchester Academy 2-0 on Tuesday at the DA gym, running its overall record to 10-0.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 25-14 and 25-18. They were led by Hadleigh McIntosh with 12 service points. Amberly had 11 points and six aces while Aubrey Edwards had 10 points and four aces.

CH will travel to Andrew Jackson today.

JV GIRLS TENNIS

Wilson Hall improved to 6-1 with a 6-0 victory over Pee Dee on Tuesday at Palmetto Tennis Center.

The doubles matches were rained out.
