CHARLES JESSIE JENKINS

Charles Jessie Jenkins, 76, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Blue Ridge of Sumter.

Born on Sept. 5, 1942, in Richland County, he was a son of the late Paul and Maelisha Adams Jenkins. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed by Hanson Brick and Gravel Pit, until retiring.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Daniel Perry of Sumter; three sisters, Shirley McKoy of Sumter, Emily Sanders (Edgar) of Rembert and Purdy Jenkins of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Allen Jenkins (Renee) of Sumter, and Paul Jenkins and John Jenkins, both of Rembert; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Edgar Sanders, 5890 TB Wright Road, Rembert.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Clyde Grant officiating, eulogist.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:50 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert.
