Child hero to be honored at Sumter County Council meeting

Sumter County Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in County Council Chambers, third floor of Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St., to recognize Malachi Coffey who assisted his neighbor after a vehicle fell on him.

Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis will also be present to recognize Coffey.

Council will also recognize Sumter County Emergency Management.

Sumter County Fiscal, Tax and Property Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. to receive a financial update.
