Officers responded to an assault after 3 p.m. on Christmas Day when an argument between two family members led to the stabbing of one according to a news release from Sumter Police Department.
The officers found a 43-year-old man who suffered a stab wound inside the home in the 600 block of Antlers Drive. According to witnesses, the victim and a 36-year-old family member were involved in an ongoing family disagreement that turned physical.
The victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Details are limited at this time but an investigation continues.
