According to unofficial results, Ridgeway earned 61.6 percent (or 2,359 votes) of the total 3,831 votes in the race. Ellerby took 38.4 percent, or 1,472 primary votes.
District 64 covers almost all of Clarendon County and northeastern Sumter County, to include the Mayesville and Shiloh areas.
Late Tuesday, Ridgeway thanked the district's residents for their continued support.
Without a Republican in the race, Ridgeway will run unopposed in November.
