Summerton UMC Holiday Bazaar set for Nov. 9-10

SUMMERTON - The Summerton United Methodist Church, 2 Briggs St., is hosting its annual Holiday Bazaar from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 9 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 10. Tickets are $5 on Friday for first dibs on great holiday items. No charge for admittance on Saturday. Items for sale will include wreaths, holiday d cor, gifts galore and lots more.

Yard Sale/Bake Sale/Soup & Cornbread Luncheon

MANNING - Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 2938 Raccoon Road, is hosting its Fall Yard Sale, Bake Sale and Soup & Cornbread Luncheon from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 10. Lots of great items will be on sale including delicious home baked goodies to enjoy over the holidays. A hearty soup and cornbread luncheon will also available. The church is located across from the Clarendon County National Guard Armory on Raccoon Road.

Clarendon County Veterans Day Ceremony

MANNING - American Legion Post 68 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 960 are hosting a countywide Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 on the Boyce Street side of the Clarendon County Courthouse. All veterans and their families are invited to attend the ceremony which will include the unveiling of the Vietnam War Memorial honoring the 13 soldiers and airmen who were killed in the Vietnam War.

Care packages for military overseas

MANNING - Clarendon Gas is asking the community to support service men and women deployed overseas by providing care packages packed with essentials, including laundry detergent pods, fabric refresher, breath strips/mints, chewing gum, hard candy, shampoo, deodorant/antiperspirant, body wash, soap, shaving cream, toothpaste, floss, power/protein bars, granola bars, energy bars, cereal bars, powdered drink mixes, plastic utensils, playing cards, Frisbees, footballs, notebook paper, envelopes, pens and postage stamps. Operation Christmas Child drop-off points

MANNING - Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1794 Old Georgetown Road, is the drop-off point for Operation Christmas Child. Drop-offs can be made Nov. 12-19 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. For more information, call (803) 435-8252.

Jr. Chamber Gun Giveaway

MANNING - The Clarendon County Junior Chamber of Commerce's annual gun giveaway fundraiser is underway. Twenty-three guns including handguns, shotguns and rifles and one gun safe will be given away during the month of December. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, Gibbons & Company CPA or from any Junior Chamber members. All the proceeds from the fundraiser will be invested into the Junior Chamber's Clarendon County projects.

Manning Christmas Parade set for Nov. 25

MANNING - Manning's Christmas Parade of Lights will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 25.

Adult Ed Registration and Orientation

MANNING - The Clarendon County Adult Education program will hold its registration and orientation at F.E. DuBose Center, 3351 Sumter Highway, on Nov. 26 and 27. Support Clarendon County Junior Golf

MANNING - The Clarendon County Junior Golf program is raising money for its youth golf program through donations of $20 for a set of M2 TaylorMade graphic shaft irons, 4-iron through gap wedge.
