Sumter County Council will meet at 6 p.m. today in County Council Chambers, third floor of Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St., to consider:
- Third and final reading of an ordinance to amend the county zoning and development standards to better define the dimensions of real estate, contractor, subdivision project, and commercial project signs; and
- Second reading of an ordinance to establish the Boyles Pond Special Tax District so the property owners in the area can collect funding to repair the dam at Boyles Pond that was damaged during the 1,000-year-flood.
Sumter County Public Safety Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. in County Council Conference Room to hear an annual report about Sumter County Sheriff's Office and Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center by Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis.
Sumter County Forfeited Land Commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. in County Council Conference Room to hold an executive session regarding four contractual matters.
Sumter County Fiscal, Tax and Property Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. in County Council Conference Room to discuss and possibly take action on financing an economic development speculative building for the county and receive a county financial update.
