Congressman Ralph Norman to lecture at USC Sumter Constitution Day Program

South Carolina's Fifth Congressional District leader in the United States House of Representatives, Ralph Norman, will present the annual Constitution Day lecture at the University of South Carolina Sumter at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the USC Sumter Arts and Letters Lecture Hall.
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens.
Norman is a lifelong resident of South Carolina's District 5. He studied at Rock Hill public schools and graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1971. He attended Presbyterian College in Clinton and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
Norman has established himself as one of South Carolina's leading businessmen. He joined his father's property and construction business right after college and grew it into one of South Carolina's most successful commercial real estate developers.
Over the course of his career, Norman has served with several organizations dedicated to improving the community, including the York County Home Builders Association, the Children's Attention Home, the Salvation Army and the Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors.
In his 10 years in the South Carolina House of Representatives, Norman has consistently voted in favor of limited government, financially sound policies and a strong national defense.
Norman has been married for 42 years to Elaine Rice Norman and, together, they have four children and 16 grandchildren.
The event at USC Sumter is free and open to the public.
