Council to consider 2nd reading of 2019 budget

Sumter County Council will meet at 6 p.m. today in County Council Chambers, Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St., to consider second reading of the county's 2019 budget of $52,752,483, in title only, after a public hearing.

Council will also consider:

  •  Third reading of an ordinance to lease property to FTC Communications LLC. Council will take a vote on the ordinance after a public hearing;
  •  Second reading of an ordinance to authorize a fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreement between Sumter County and a company identified as Project Bulldog;
  •  Second reading of an ordinance to amend the master agreement for Sumter-Lee Industrial Park to include property owned and operated by a company identified as Project Bulldog; and
  •  First reading of an ordinance to authorize a general obligation bond not exceeding $2.5 million.

Also, Sumter County Forfeited Land Commission will meet at 4:30 p.m. today in County Council Conference Room, Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St.

Sumter County Fiscal, Tax and Property Committee will meet at 5 p.m. today in County Council Conference Room, Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St., to hold an executive session to discuss an economic development matter and receive a legal briefing.

Sumter County Council will hold a budget workshop at 5:30 p.m. today in County Council Chambers, Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St., to review the general fund and other budget matters.
