Dalzell man arrested on child pornography charges

A 43-year-old Dalzell man has been arrested on child pornography charges according to a news release from S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson.

Chad Everett McCollam was arrested on Monday and charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment on each count.

Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with Sumter County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General's Office and Homeland Security Investigations, both also members of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation and arrest.

According to investigators, McCollam distributed multiple files of child pornography.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
