Sumter Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children invites the community to attend its annual A Day of Remembrance event that will be held on Thursday.

The event will start with a march from Central Carolina Technical College's Main Street campus at 5:30 p.m. Participants are asked to meet in the campus parking lot at 5:15 p.m. and to wear shirts with their loved one's pictures or carry small banners in their memory. The walk will end at the old Sumter County Courthouse on Main Street, where a ceremony to remember victims of homicide will be held from 6 to about 7:30 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Milton Corley, former manager of Corley Vision Center on Bultman Drive, whose daughter was murdered in 2011.
