Eaton employees distributed 2,990 books valued at $10,000 to classrooms at Kingsbury Elementary School on Thursday. All the books were purchased through a $30,000 grant that Eaton received. The grant assists the Sumter Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm for Sumter School District, in its goal to raise $500,000 to purchase sets of 500 books for each classroom library and other resources to support literacy and create a better future workforce for business and industry. Along with the grant money, the Sumter manufacturer also recently awarded $20,000 worth of books and a digital library to Pocalla Springs Elementary School.
