Edna Mae Swinton, 80, was born on Nov. 15, 1937, in Sumter, a daughter of the late James and Annie Bell Logan Wright. She departed this life on Monday, May 21, 2018.

Edna Mae Swinton received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. In her youth, she attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three daughters, JoAnn Logan and Christine (David) Blackwell, both of Sumter, and Linda (Kevin) McDuffie of Charlotte, North Carolina; six sons, Johnny Wright, David Logan, Larry Logan, William Brown and Charles Brown, all of Sumter, and Anthony Brown of Antonio, Texas; one brother, Herbert (Bertha Mae) Wright of Sumter; one aunt, Emma Wright of Sumter; four brothers-in-law, Benjamin (Dollie) Swinton and Roosevelt (Naomi) Swinton, both of Sumter, Harry (Daisy) Swinton of Huntersville, Alabama, and Robert Lee (Genevie) Swinton of Portsmouth, Virginia; 30 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Pamela Brown and Deloris Logan; four brothers, Bernie Wright, Jacob Wright, David Wright and James Wright Jr.; two sisters, Dorothy James and Mildred Wright; one grandson, Antonio Brown; and one great-grandson, Anthony Logan Jr.

Public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Swinton will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Jeffery Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Bradford Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at her home, 14 Hudson St., Sumter.
