Ellis Kelly Cameron passed away on Aug. 14, 2018, at his home in Sumter.

Born on Nov. 11, 1928, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, Kelly was a son of the late Edna and Ellis Cameron of Ailsa Craig, Ontario, Canada, and brother of the late Duncan Cameron.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by daughter, Susan Linesman and husband, Terry of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; son, James Cameron and wife, Barbara, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; son, Philip Cameron and wife, Caroline, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; daughter, Chris Sarafin and husband, Steve, of Camden; along with cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kelly was a 1948 graduate of Ontario Agriculture College. He pursued a career in the poultry industry with Campbell Soup, beginning in Listowel, Ontario, Canada. His career with Campbell Soup led him and his family to Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1972 and then on to Sumter in 1977. Kelly retired to establish a horse stable in Sumter, where he enjoyed caring for the horses, the dogs and all those who boarded their horses at The Stable.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Church of the Holy Cross.
