Emma Lee Richardson, wife of Henry Richardson, departed this life on July 26, 2018.

She was born on Feb. 17, 1957, a daughter of Rosa Lee H. Wells and the late Leroy Wells. She was a devoted a mother, grandmother, loving daughter, sister and aunt, who was very loving and caring to all who knew her. Emma Lee was always full of life with a beautiful smile. She loved God and loved to read her Bible. She decided to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age when she was baptized. Emma attended and graduated from Sumter High School in 1966. She was a licensed cosmetologist. She then retired from Sumter Laundry & Cleaners.

She later met her husband of 44 years who was very devoted to her and from this union they had two children.

Emma leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Henry Richardson; a daughter, Latasha Q. R. Walker; a son, Henry L. (Felicia) Richardson; an adopted daughter, Latisha Smith; grandchildren, Daniel, Larissa, Olivia and Desciney Walker, Tarbons Richardson, Shigana, Camella and Lewis Smith; two brothers, Leroy (Barbara) Wells Jr. and Michael (Carol) Wells; and three sisters, Diana (Lee) Singleton, Eva (Bill) Burwell and Michelle (Ernest) Dicks.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Wells.

Public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Richardson will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with the Rev. Davie Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1063 Manning Road, Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
