Funeral services for Ernest McKnight will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Antioch AME Church, 8800 Camp MacBoykin Road, Pinewood, with the Rev. Dorothy White officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Ernest Lee McKnight, 57, was born on July 22, 1960, in Pinewood, to the late Henry James McKnight Sr. and Lucille Dubose McKnight. He was the tenth child of 12.
Mr. McKnight departed this earthly life on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2018, at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
Ernest's formal education was obtained in the public schools of Sumter County and he was a 1978 graduate of Furman High School. While attending Furman High School, he was a member of the baseball team. After graduating high school, Ernest went directly into the workforce for a short period of time. Ernest then decided that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father and join the military. He enlisted in the United States Marines for a few months and was honorably discharged.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and two cousins.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: six children, to include two daughters, Katrina McKnight of Sumter and Shaina Junious of New York, New York, and four sons, Jamel McKnight of Pinewood, Ernest Junious of Bronx, New York, Jaylen Junious and Sean Junious of New York; one sister, Elease McKnight of Pinewood; seven brothers, Henry (Queen Victoria) McKnight Jr. of New York, Johnnie McKnight, Albert McKnight, Richard McKnight and Herbert McKnight, all of Pinewood, Willie McKnight of Atlanta and Stanley O'Neil McKnight of Spokane, Washington; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
