ESSIE MAE WILSON

The life voyage of Essie Mae Wilson, 64, widow of Willie Lee Wilson, came to an end on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on May 31, 1954, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late James McDonald and Ethel Peterson Rouse.

Essie leaves to cherish her memories: Lois Peterson (Eugene), Patricia Wilson (Ervin), Michael (Valrie) Wilson, Cusandra Wilson (Adrian) and Rachael (Peter) Robinson; brothers and sisters, Carolyn Peterson, Janie Mae (Henry), Willie Peterson, Roosevelt (Shirley) Rouse, Leroy (Brenda) Rouse, Alfonzo (Denika) Rouse, Kirk (Katrese) Rouse and Rosabel (Ezans); seven grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 1079 S. St. Paul Church Road, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, the Rev. Dr. Larry Harris, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at noon.

The funeral procession will leave at 12:15 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Unionville AME Churchyard Cemetery.
