Flora Moye Ardis, 92, widow of George Ray Ardis Sr., died on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at NHC Healthcare in Sumter.
Born on July 20, 1925, in Jonesville, she was a daughter of the late Fulton Emmett Moye Sr. and Louise Mitchell Moye. Flora was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She retired from BD and as manager of Jackie's Uniform. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Ray Ardis of Sumter; a daughter, Carol Houser of Sumter; three grandchildren, Lyn (Scott) Dennis of Beaufort, Lee Houser of Sumter and Craig Hawkins of Columbia; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Dennis of Beaufort and Rob Dennis of Columbia; two brothers, Robert (Jeanette) Moye of Sumter and Joseph Moye of Summerton; two sisters, Mickey (Ray) Rogers and Bootsie (John) Dickerson of Sumter; one sister-in-law, Anne Moye of Sumter; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Emmett Moye Jr., Bill Moye and Michael Moye.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Dickerson, Emmett Moye, James Moye, Bobby Moye, Tony Horton and Sam Horton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Ward, Steve Ward, Johnny Ward, Mike Ward and Kyle Dickerson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Massey officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery immediately following the service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
