Anderson was a faithful member of Alice Drive Baptist Church and worked for many years as a volunteer at National Healthcare in Sumter. She loved her family dearly and will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are a son, Philip Anderson Sr. of Sumter, and a daughter, Doris Ann Travis of Frankfort, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Stacy Moore, Stephanie Cassidy, Philip Anderson Jr. and Britton Anderson; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Gene, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Ricky" Anderson, and a grandson, Jeff Travis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stewart Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
