Friends of Pearl Fryar's Topiary Garden have generously supported the Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Scholarship Program since 2008 according to a news release from CCTC.
Scholarship awards are designated for two Lee County students, with a preference given to one student from Lee Central High School and one student from Robert E. Lee Academy. This year's recipients are Tatyana Williams, a criminal justice technology program student, and Noah Mozingo, who is entering the automotive technology program.
Central Carolina Technical College Foundation operates exclusively for charitable educational purposes as a 501(c)3 organization. Support from benefactors provides funding for scholarships that are awarded to CCTC students through the Foundation Scholarship Program. Benefactors include individuals, companies, clubs and organizations. Scholarships may be undesignated or the donor may designate certain criteria for the award.
"This is a wonderful opportunity that the Friends of Pearl Fryar's Topiary Garden have provided for the last 10 years. Pearl Fryar has spent his life shaping these beautiful garden sculptures and now these scholarships will help shape these young minds for the future. We're very proud and excited about these students joining us at Central Carolina," CCTC President Dr. Michael Mikota said in the release.
