Garland "Red" Pack, was born on Aug. 4, 1936, in Paxville to the late Altamount Pack and Maybelle P. Farmer Pack. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, after a brief illness.

At an early age he joined Zion Hill Baptist Church. Later in his spiritual journey, he joined the Holy House of Prayer with his brother, the late Leon Pack. Pack worked at Santee Print until going into business with his wife.

He was married to the late Shirley Franklin Pack and from that union three children were born: Eric (Loteria) Pack, Keith Pack and Garland Pack Jr.

He leaves to mourn in his passing: his sons, Keith Pack of Barstow, California, and Eric (Loteria) Pack of Columbia; two grandchildren, Lauren and Mariah Pack of Columbia; Rosa McElveen, Mamie Lee Landux, both of Sumter, and Bobby Jean Pack of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by Garland Pack Jr. and Shirley Franklin Pack.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Pack will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Monday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church, Elder James Brunson, officiating.

Interment will follow in Calvary-Zion Hill Cemetery, Pinewood.

Family will receive friends at the home of his sister, 2302 Harper St., Sumter SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
