Born in 1936 in Lee County, Grace, the widow of Benjamin Driggers, began a life that will continue to impact those she has left behind. Grace was a daughter of the late Charlie E. Welch and Bertha Boykin Welch. A woman known for her poise and giving spirit has at last been reunited with her forever sweetheart. A loving mother, wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend is now spending time with her heavenly father.
After working for many years in the family business at Sally's Bargain Store, she joined her late husband in running their business as they spent their days working side by side as the owners of Benjie Auto Sales in Bishopville.
Grace loved sharing ice cream treats with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She put smiles on their faces as well as anyone else that knew her. She enjoyed worshiping at First Church of the Nazarene in Bishopville and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include: a son, Henry Driggers Jr., a daughter, Debbie Jordan, both of Bishopville; grandchildren, Steven Jordan Jr. (Gretchen) and Lindsay Brazell (Rob); great-grandchildren, Noah and Zana Brazell, and Monroe Jordan; two sisters, Beatrice Hopkins and Carolyn Smith; a sister-in-law, Joyce Bramlett (Luther); and several nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by two brothers, Benny Welch and Bobby Welch; and a sister Ida Frances Grantham.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Elon Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Lydia, SC 29079; or to Bishopville First Church of the Nazarene, 320 Dennis Ave., Bishopville, SC 29010. Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home is serving the family.
