Born on Jan. 16, 1948, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late George Ernest Medlin Sr. and Nora Alexander Medlin. She was a member of Summerton Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Tonya Alexander (Ron) and Vicki Preast, both of Sumter; a stepdaughter, Lisa Kee (Rodney) of Sumter; a stepson, Phillip Folkers (Becky) of Columbia; a brother, George E. Medlin Jr. of Camden; seven grandchildren, Dustin Preast (Amber), Bryanna Preast, Megan Alexander, Erin McGovern (Conor), William Kee (Sutton), Alex Kee (Brooke) and Hannah Folkers; two great-grandchildren, Haze and Ansley; a special aunt, Roma Magnum; and two special close friends, Christine Bryant and Connie Barwick.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Herbert Medlin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Summerton Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Josie Holler and the Rev. Garland Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Sumter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Preast, Ron Alexander, Robert Bryant, Harry Thames, Claude Rabon and Tim Eisenbach.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Tonya Alexander, 80 Old Spring Court, Sumter.
The family would like to thank National Health Care of Sumter and Caris Hospice for their loving care and attention.
