The Sumter County Sheriff's Office and the family of Malik Sutton continue to seek answers into the 20-year-old's death after the man was found dead inside his vehicle of an apparent gunshot wound on Nov. 3.

An autopsy was inconclusive, said Ken Bell, public information officer with the sheriff's office, referring to the possibility that Sutton's wound may have been caused by another person.

So far during the investigation, deputies have learned that Sutton's girlfriend was the last person to have seen him before his death, Bell said.

Sutton took his girlfriend to an appointment that day and later dropped her off, he said.

That was the last time he was known to have been with another person, Bell said.

Investigators are continuing to interview other people to confirm that no one else interacted with Sutton, he said.
