James M. Alsbrook

James Milton Alsbrook, 93, husband of Juanita Avinger Alsbrook, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late McKeever D. and Elizabeth S. Alsbrook.

Mr. Alsbrook was a member of First Baptist Church, a World War II veteran and was retired from South Carolina Department of Transportation.

In addition to his wife of Sumter, he is survived by a step-daughter, Barbara Kimbrell and her husband, Rupert; two grandsons, Tripp Kimbrell and his wife, Rebecca, and William Kimbrell and his wife, Lisa; four great-grandchildren, all of Sumter; as well as special friends Griffin and Corinne Avin.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

The family would like to thank Tuomey Home Health and Tuomey Hospice, as well as a special thanks to his sitters, April, Bertha and Daisy, for their care of Mr. Alsbrook.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Clanton officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home.
