Janice Rodgers Joyner, age 92, beloved wife of the late Rev. Leon Patrick Joyner Sr., died on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at NHC Healthcare, Sumter.Born in Kingstree, she was a daughter of the late R. Clyde Rodgers and Rebecca Hanna Rodgers. Janice served as a devoted pastor's wife in seven churches in the South Carolina Pentecostal Holiness Conference from 1952 to 1986. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are three sons, Larry N. Joyner and his wife, Marilyn, of Monclova, Ohio, L. Patrick Joyner Jr. and his wife, Wanda, of Sumter and Ronald D. Joyner and his wife, Raye, of Georgetown; four daughters, Marie J. Steele and her husband, John, of Sumter, Rebecca J. Nichols and her husband, Robert, of Lexington, Renee J. Graham and her husband, Michael, of Chapin and Nancy J. Rodgers and her husband, Tim, of Sumter; one sister, Sara R. Harrington of Atlanta; one sister-in-law, Libby Rodgers of Kingstree; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Rodgers.

A celebration of her life and homegoing will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Howell officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Bullock Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church - Mission Fund, 2609 McCrays Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29154 or to Tuomey Hospice, 500 Pinewood Road No. 2, Sumter, SC 29154.
